Abatec is recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business producing high-quality components and tooling for commercial and industrial applications.
The Role
We are looking for a Tooling Assembly Operator to join a specialist engineering team in Nailsea BS48 area.
The role will involve assembling, refurbishing and testing pneumatic punch tooling and crimping equipment, while supporting the development and improvement of tooling systems.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a mechanical or engineering background who is looking for a long-term position with strong training and development prospects.
Hours
- Monday to Friday
- 8:00am – 4:00pm
- Some flexibility around working hours
- Overtime available
Pay & Benefits
- £13.79 per hour + £0.50 per hour attendance bonus
- Equivalent basic salary of approximately £27,865 per annum
- Temp-to-perm or permanent opportunity
- Excellent training and development prospects
- Weekday overtime – x1.33
- Weekend overtime – x1.5 for the first 8 hours
- Additional weekend hours – x2
- Salary flexibility available for the right permanent candidate
Duties
- Assemble, build and refurbish punch tooling and crimping equipment
- Read and work from engineering drawings and work orders
- Test tooling to ensure quality and correct operation
- Work accurately to procedures and tolerances
- Support prototype tooling and improvements to existing designs
- Identify tooling and quality issues
- Maintain accurate build and refurbishment records
- Maintain high standards of quality, safety and housekeeping
About You
We are looking for candidates with:
- Previous engineering, mechanical, tooling or assembly experience
- Good practical and mechanical knowledge
- Ability to understand engineering drawings
- Good attention to detail
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to learn and develop
