Our client, one of the UK’s biggest contractors, is successfully delivering a £1 billion package of work at Hinkley Point C, and due to their continued presence, is recruiting for a permanent Site Engineer. This is an opportunity to join an award-winning contractor that have secured a challenging package of work on the construction of the new nuclear plant, Hinkley Point C in Somerset. You do not need to have worked previously on the scheme, as our client is willing to put you through the necessary security vetting.
As Site Engineer you will:
• Have a minimum of 1-2 years’ experience of setting-out on heavy civil engineering schemes in the UK involving tunneling and linings.
• Use a robotic total station to provide levelling and surveying across the site.
• Check drawings and quantities, ensuring the accuracy of calculations.
• Comply with the site-specific health and safety protocols and to ensure any health and safety concerns are identified and reported as necessary.
Our client requires a Site Engineer with:
• Valid CSCS and experience of robotic total stations.
• A good understating of construction health & safety protocols.
• Excellent communication skills.
• HND/HNC/Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Understanding of AutoCAD
• Availability to work a cyclical shift pattern of days and nights – 7 days on, 3 days off, 7 nights on, 4 nights off.
Salary and benefits include:
• Basic annual salary up to £42,300 (depending on experience)
• 42% shift uplift increasing earnings to over £60,000

• Up to £50 p/day lodge allowance
• Up to £200 p/month reimbursed travel expenses
• 25 days paid annual leave (not including bank holidays) and an opportunity to purchase additional annual leave
