Abatec is currently recruiting for three experienced Site Agents to join one of the UK’s largest and most significant infrastructure projects based at Hinkley Point C in Somerset.
This is a fantastic opportunity to secure long-term freelance work on a major civil engineering programme, with 5–7 years of planned and programmed works ahead. The team is expanding and requires capable Site Agents who can take ownership of sections of work and drive safe, efficient delivery across a busy infrastructure environment.
The Role
Working as part of the team you will be responsible for managing sections of civil engineering works, ensuring delivery in line with programme, safety, and quality standards.
Typical responsibilities will include
- Managing day-to-day site operations and supervising site teams
- Coordinating subcontractors and direct workforce
- Ensuring works are delivered safely and in line with programme
- Reviewing RAMS, permits and site documentation
- Liaising with engineering, commercial and planning teams
- Driving productivity while maintaining the highest safety standards
Working Pattern
Due to the operational requirements of the project, shift patterns are varied and will include:
- Standard day shifts
- Night shifts
- Weekend working
Nights and weekends are consistently available, offering strong earning potential.
Rate
- Approx. £540 – £600 per shift (PAYE Umbrella)
- x1.5 uplift for nights and weekend shifts
Requirements
- Proven experience working as a Site Agent on major civil engineering or infrastructure projects
- Strong leadership and organisational skills
- Experience managing subcontractors and site teams
- SMSTS and CSCS
- Strong understanding of health, safety and quality requirements on major projects
