Abatec are seeking reliable and hardworking Gatemen / Traffic Marshals to join a busy contractor working across projects in Bristol and Bath.
The successful candidates will play a vital role in maintaining site safety and ensuring the safe movement of vehicles and pedestrians on and around site. This position requires vigilance, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
You will need.
CSCS or NPORS
PPE
Traffic Marshal / Gateman experience
Responsibilities
• Control the movement of vehicles entering and exiting site.
• Ensure the safety of pedestrians and site workers at all times.
• Operate as a banksman, guiding vehicles safely around site.
• Monitor site access, ensuring only authorised personnel enter.
• Maintain clear communication with site teams and drivers.
• Ensure all work is carried out in line with health and safety regulations.
• Keep the site entrance clean, safe, and organised.
• Report any incidents, hazards, or concerns to supervisors promptly.
Experience
• Previous experience as a Gateman or Traffic Marshal is essential.
• Strong awareness of health and safety procedures.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to remain alert and focused in a busy environment.
• Reliable, punctual, and professional attitude.
You’ll ideally have
Traffic Marshal / Banksman ticket
Full UK driving licence
Experience on commercial construction sites
