Join a Global Civil Engineering contractor, with a UK turnover in excess of £80million. Abatec is working with an industry leader in delivering major highway and power infrastructure projects across the UK, in the recruitment of a permanent Estimator. Based in Swindon, our client requires an Estimator with a Civil Engineering background and experience in developing tender strategies, design feasibility, producing activity schedules and BoQ’s through to tender submission.
As an Estimator you will:
- Have worked on tenders within the Civil Engineering industry.
- Be responsible for preparation and submission of all bids.
- Analyse labour, material and plant subcontractors for best value.
- Have working knowledge of NEC contracts.
- Be experience of working for a Civil Engineering contractor.
- Have excellent communication skills.
- Hold a degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or Civil Engineering.
- Have experience of reviewing contract terms and Conditions, identifying and clarifying scope of work at Tender stage and creating commercial strategies.
Location: Be based in our client’s offices in Swindon, Wiltshire
Working hours: 37.5 hours each week
Hybrid working: There is a possibility of remote working 1 day a week after a successful probation
Salary band: £60,000 – £70,000 per annum
Benefits package: £5,750 car allowance, 25 days annual leave (exc bank holidays), company pension (matched up to 8%) plus more
