An exciting opportunity for an experienced CMM Inspector has arisen to join a busy team within an expanding precision manufacturing company, specialising in precision machined components for the UK and international Civil, Defence and Aerospace industries - these are high tolerance products, manufactured from a host of exotic materials.

As a skilled CMM Inspector your duties will include :-

  • Quality Inspection of precision machined components
  • Developing methods of inspection for first off, in process and final inspection
  • Managing and controlling CMM programmes, first off and final inspection plans - training available
  • Assisting with the promotion of a Continuous Improvement culture
  • Assisting with investigation of customer concerns and in-house corrective actions, in conjunction with the Quality and Technical Manager
  • Assisting with those liaising with suppliers to determine causes of non-conformance and implementation of supplier corrective action
  • Assisting with planning and carrying out CMM training and improvement techniques - training available
  • Understanding correlations in errors to assist improvements across a wider area of the business
  • Assisting with the control of Gauge R & R Studies to promote improvements in measurement methods - training available
  • Driving continuous improvement in the production processes, utilising best practice machining and checking techniques
  • Operating a CMM using PC Dmis, to implement, develop and maintain CMM Programs that feed into the clients Inspection Plans (training available). Key areas to deliver are 100% quality score with the customers through identifying non conforming parts and supporting continual improvement

Our client is ideally seeking candidates with :-

  • Previous inspection experience (CMM experience is an advantage)
  • The ability to work to deadlines
  • Good communication skills and attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonnel and relationship building skills to effectively liaise with team members
  • The ability to communicate effectively with other areas of the organisation
  • Self-managing skills - capable of planning and prioritising activities
  • A keen eye for detail and accuracy
  • The ability to problem solve and overcome potential issues
